Veteran's Day

We had a fun and busy day yesterday. Here are some highlights:

  • Took the day off from work and school
  • Went up to Gilbert for the first time in about 8 months. We told Ethan we were going to Nana's house and he says, "But that's too far!". Apparently we have told him that a few times. We really need to get out more!
  • Went to the temple
  • The boys got to go to a parade with Nana
  • Ate some yummy hamburgers and some leftover Halloween candy
  • Saw some buffalo. Why is some random family in Gilbert raising buffalo? Ethan named all three of them. One is named Yucky Tongue Nose. I'll leave out the details.
  • Visited with our friends, the Mitchells and let them feed us, again! Took 4 boxes of girl's clothes and gave them 1 box of boy clothes. We made out like bandits!
  • The boys both fell asleep on the way home, so bedtime was so easy.
  • Zak rushed to get to his basketball game on time, while I sat down, watched TV, and sorted through our loot. Katie, I really owe you!

I think I like the idea of a holiday in the middle of the week!

Yucky Tongue Nose? That makes me want to raise buffalo, too. Hope you still have room for more girl stuff.
I like the mid-week holiday, too. John had the day off, and we went took the kids to a swimming pool w/ a kiddie pool and big pool. It made me want to be on vacation. "Ok, lets go out to eat now, and get some movies to watch, and not go back to school and work tomorrow."

I like holidays in the middle of the week too...especially when I get to spend them with my two cute grand-boys!
