Way to go Ethan! We are so proud of you and how much you have learned and grown this year!

My first quilt

My friend Elena has been trying to share some of her quilting talent with me. A few weeks ago I finished my first quilt.

If you look really closely, you can see I still need some practice. I loved making it though, and now I'm getting ready to start one for Sadie.

Ouch

Ethan and Colby were playing with Sadie yesterday, and they started to get a little too rough.
Me: "Be gentle or I will take her away from you guys"
Colby: "Back to your tummy?"
Yikes.

A story only a mother could like...

Last week I decided it was time to do some serious potty training with Colby. We have been trying to talk him into it for months, but he never seemed interested. It was a long process getting Ethan potty trained, so I was not looking forward to going through it again, but I thought having Colby trained sometime in his life was a good idea. Zak and I got ourselves all pumped up, and were ready to go. We decided to just go cold turkey--no more diapers, no pull-ups, no turning back. We figured we would be cleaning up a lot of messes, and be stuck at the house for about a week, but we had to just do it.
On Tuesday, I got rid of the few diapers we had left, so when Colby wanted a diaper change later, I took him in there and showed him they we gone. He was a little confused, and then he actually told me he should probably just wear underwear. We put some on him, and told him he needed to use the potty so he could keep his pants dry, and then we sat back and waited for the inevitible accidents to happen as he got the hang of it. Or not. Colby was a champ! He has been clean and dry, day and night, since! He got the hang of it so quick, and he is excited to be a "big boy". We're so proud of him, and so glad it was an easy process this time! And Zak is really glad he does not have to clean any pee out of the carpet.

Blogging Break

I've been neglecting this poor little blog. Sorry to all you followers (Larissa) for making you miss out on the exciting life of the Prices .

Here's some catch-up:

We started getting some fun smiles from Sadie at the beginning of this month. She will smile for just about anyone, but saves some of her best ones for her dad.

Big Brother Colby loves to make her smile whenever he can, and he'll do whatever he decides is going to make her happy, like bring her every stuffed animal he can find!


We found out that shots do not make her smile. She did not like her two month appointment so much! But we did find out that she is getting big! She is in the 75% for height and 50% for weight. I guess we don't need to worry about her being too small anymore!

Last week Colby was running a fever for a few days. I kept trying to keep him away from Sadie, but that was not so easy. He tells me that she is his best buddy (at least while Ethan is at school), so he kept trying to stay close to her whenever he could. When I got out of the shower one day, this is what I found:
Poor guy was all tuckered out, but he still wouldn't leave his sister!

We had my mom, the Elams, and Nate and James come over to dye and hunt eggs on the Saturday before Easter. The kids had so much fun. Thanks to Nana for providing the candy and Nate and James for bringing some AWESOME toys (not really) to put in the plastic eggs.
